9.4Paul Rutledge Durr III

I have over 25 years of legal experience.  I am licensed to practice law in Colorado, Illinois and Missouri.  I hold an "AV Preeminent® Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating" at the "highest level of professional excellence."   You will find that I also have high ratings at legal websites such as Avvo.  I am a member of various bar associations and committees, a member of Greater Denver Tax Counsel Association and a member of the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Counsel.  Although my practice is now limited to transaction and planning matters, I have litigated various cases in the past, including contested estates and business and civil and criminal tax matters, and try to use that experience to avoid litigation for my clients, or to know when to send my clients to litigation counsel.  I remain licensed to practice before the U.S. Tax Court.  I also worked as an assistant States Attorney early in my career for a short time prosecuting criminal cases, which provided valuable insight into the criminal justice system.  Before passing the bar I worked in the tax departments of two accounting firms, and prior to and during law school I was employed in construction management as a surveyor and technical engineer.   So I am equally suited to read and understand financial statements and land surveys. I have undergraduate degrees in accounting and finance, and was licensed as an Illinois real estate broker and real estate continuing education instructor in Illinois before my move to Colorado in 1994.  If you would like to know additional information about my qualifications and experience, please contact me.
